Guides such as Paul, Bo, Stefan, Robyn, and Magnus add stories about food, folklore, and daily life. The group is capped at 12, and the tour lasts about three hours.

“Our guide was entertaining and knowledgeable. Food was decent street food. I had better lamb soup at other Icelandic location and bread with the soup was disappointing. At Doss you indicate: "alcoholic drink Icelandic drink of your choosing. We recommend a special beer or maybe Black Death the one and only Icelandic snaps." We were only offered soda, beer or moonshine. Black Death was never offered. We were on a 10-day tour and tried most of these foods. Quite costly given the portions.”

“Hands down one of the best food/drink tours we've had. Quality of food, variety, and pacing/sequencing of the stops was perfect. What really made it a stand-out experience was our guide, Stevie. I've never done a food tour where our guide was as knowledgeable as he was on Icelandic history. We went to two museums earlier that day, and learned more from Stevie about Iceland than from both of them combined, in a more engaging way. If you're looking for an activity in Reykjavik to maximize bang for your buck in terms of food, drink, and history, then you won't go wrong with this tour. I will be recommending it…”

“Our guide was very nice and informative. We started with a cup of lamb broth in paper cups. Next was a .5cm piece of shark with a shot of alcohol and a small amount of fish stew on a paper plate in a tourist diner. On to a hot dog stand. The finale was a lamb tartar and a char canapé with a beer at a family style bar and grill (I would go back for a burger). All this for a measly $384 for two. I asked our guide about brut, a restaurant we passed. He said it was too pricey for him. If we had the priciest meal…”
