“This was a fantastic trip! Hilmer, our guide was very friendly and knowledgeable. I felt very safe with him driving especially with the wind blowing so fast. I would recommend anyone that’s planning to come to Iceland to do this tour, whether in group or alone. I loved everything about it. All the people we met on tour, we won’t forget. Each hotel that we stayed at had great service and great food! A little tip, make sure you follow the guide for what clothes to bring because you can get wet or it can be very cold, so plan accordingly. Safe travels!”

“On these trips the guide makes or breaks the trip in my opinion. Elli completely made this trip. He was full of knowledge and recommendations. He loves his job and that shines through and benefits all who go on a tour with him. We saw and experienced countless wonders in Iceland with the unforgettable trip. The glacier hike had to be one of our top expeditions though, and Edgar and Pare were both fabulous guides for that as well. This trip is absolutely worth it.”

“The eight days we spent with our guide Thor were incredibly enjoyable. All the arrangements were well-organised, and he did a great job of letting us know when we'd have time to rest and eat during the long drives. Thanks to his explanations, we were also able to better understand Iceland's culture and nature. Because of him, we're leaving Iceland with nothing but happy memories. As a solo traveler not used to driving, I looked into several tours before deciding. Troll's tour was a great choice, with well-prepared vehicles and itineraries. If you're a solo traveler and find driving in Iceland's unpredictable weather challenging, I highly recommend this tour.”

“This trip feels like a school trip and not in a good way. The choice of accommodation is very poor, as you need to embrace no hot water and poor catering. Given choice, I would just copy itinerary and drive around in the car. The guide is the only positivity in the ocean of inconvenience and rude unprofessional service.”

“Hinrik was the best guide I ever could have asked for. I felt so safe with him the entire time while we were glacier hiking, hiking in a sand storm, driving in windy conditions, and much more. He was very communicative about everything. You could tell he loved his job and that safety was his top priority. Our boat tour of the lagoon got cancelled due to weather and the group was disappointed so Hinrik called to see if we could reschedule to the next day and made it happen! It was such a great experience so I'm glad he was able to do that for us. The itinerary was…”

The seven-day route covers waterfalls, glacier ice, black beaches, fjords, lava caves, whale watching options, geothermal baths, and the Golden Circle. Guides such as Thorey add local character to the long driving days.

“The 19 seater van was too small for this tour. It was more crammed than airline basic economy, with very little leg room and little space for our day bags. One of the 3 tour guides should talk less. She should not share her personal stories. Stick to tour related material. Acureyri hotel room was too small, no table space, no bag space, poorly lit, no closet, no safe, bathroom too small. Other than the above the tour was very enjoyable.”
